Dishwasher Error Codes
If your dishwasher displays an error code, it means that something needs to be fixed or that some maintenance is required. Some of the codes are simple to fix, such as adjusting the water pump and cleaning your filter, while others are more complex and require the assistance of a professional technician.

Fisher and Paykel Dishwasher Error Codes

A1 | No water-the water supply hasn’t been turned on. |
A3 | Drawer cannot drain. The drainage hose may be blocked or kinded, or the connection to drainage pipe may be blocked. |
A6 | The spray arm has loosened or come off its mounting, or water pressure is too low. |
A7 | Auto recovery program: Dishwasher has detected excess foam in the drawer. |
A09 | Sanitize cycle hasn’t met temperature needed to sanitize dishes. |
A10 | No water. Check household water pressure. Check the water inlet hose and straighten if needed. |
A20 | Drain fault. Check the drain hose and straighten if needed. |
A60 | Water temperature error. Switch dishwasher OFF and ON again. If fault persists call Customer Care. |
AD0 | Doorlock signal error. Switch dishwasher OFF and ON again. If fault persists call Customer Care. |
F2X | Motor fault. |
F3X | Temperature fault. You may need to have a tempering valve installed on your water supply, to ensure that incoming water is less than 65C (149F). |
F4X | Heating element failed. |
F5X | Fault with the internal lid of the dishwasher. |
F6X | Component failure. |
F7X | Fill valve fault. |
F8X | Electronics fault-motor controller. |
F9X | Electronics fault-wash controller. |
FCX | Electronics fault-communication between drawers. |
F1 | Flood switch has been activated. Turn the water and power supply to the DishDrawer off and call your Authorised Service Centre or Customer Care. |
F2 | Motor problem. |
F3 | Temperature sensor failed. Ensure water coming in through the inlet hose is less than 65 C. You may need to install a tempering valve on your water supply. |
F4 | Faulty temperature sensor or element. |
F5 | Lid fault. Turn power supply to DishDrawer® off, then turn on power supply. Fault may reset. |
F6 | Lid fault. Turn power supply to DishDrawer® off, then turn on power supply. Fault may reset. |
F7 | Lid fault. |
F8 | Electrical problem. |
F9 | Electronics malfunction. |
F30 | Flood switch activated. Turn the dishwasher OFF and ON again. If fault persists, turn water off and disconnect the dishwasher from the power supply. Call Customer Care. |
F40 | Water flow error. Switch dishwasher OFF and ON again. If fault persists call Customer Care. |
F50 | Electronics error. Switch dishwasher OFF and ON again. If the fault persists call Customer Care. |
F90 | Data/electronics error. Switch dishwasher OFF and ON again. If fault persists call Customer Care. |
FA0 | Electronics/power supply error. Switch dishwasher OFF and ON again. If fault persists call Customer Care. |
FCO | Motor fault. Switch dishwasher OFF at the power supply. Wait a few moments and switch ON again. If the fault persists, turn water off and disconnect from the power supply. Call Customer Care. |
U1 | Fill fault. 1.Turn the DishDrawer water supply on. 2. Ensure the spray arm is placed on the impeller and can rotate about the centre. If the DishDrawer® is full of water, it will need to be emptied manually. |
U4 | Fault in the other drawer preventing the use of this drawer. Fault in the other drawer preventing the use of this drawer. |
Smeg Dishwasher Error Codes

Er 01 | The anti-flooding system (where present) has been tripped. |
Er 02 | The water level limitation system has tripped. |
Er 03 | The appliance cannot heat the water. |
Er 04 | The temperature sensor is disconnected. |
Er 05 | The appliance cannot take in the water. |
Er 06 | The appliance cannot drain the water from the tank. |
Er 07 | The dishwasher cannot measure the precise water quantity that has been loaded. |
Er 08 | Problem on the water distribution system to the baskets. |
Er 09 | Water intake system malfunction. |
E1 | Acquastop failure. The anti-flooding system has been activated (for the relevant models only). The system is tripped in case of water leaks. Contact the after-sales service. |
E2 | Safety level. The system which limits the water level inside the dishwasher has been tripped. Interrupt the program and switch off the dishwasher. Switch the dishwasher back on, program it again and start the washing cycle. If the problem persists, contact the after-sales service. |
E3 | Water heating malfunction. The water is not heated or the heating parameters are not correct. Repeat the washing program; if the problem persists, contact the after-sales service. |
E4 | Water temperature monitoring malfunction. Interrupt the program and switch off the dishwasher. Switch the dishwasher back on, program it again and start the washing cycle. |
E5 | Water intake malfunction. The appliance does not take in water or does not do so correctly. Check that the water connections are correct, the water intake tap is turned on and the filter is not fouled. |
E6 | Water pump-out malfunction. The appliance does not pump out the water or does not do so correctly. Check that the drain hose is not kinked or crushed and that the siphon and filter are not fouled. |
E7 | Turbine flow-regulator malfunction. The appliance is not able to “measure” the amount of water loaded accurately. Interrupt the program and switch off the dishwasher. Switch the dishwasher back on, program it again and start the washing cycle. |
E8 | Alternate washing system malfunction. Interrupt the program and switch off the dishwasher. Switch the dishwasher back on, program it again and start the washing cycle. |
E9 | Water intake system malfunction. |
F1 | Start of test. Close the door and the machine will fill, if the motor is faulty this will halt prematurely. |
C1 | Fill Check. As the machine fills open the door then close it again. The machine will continue after about five seconds. |
C2 | Dispenser Check. After the fill is completed the soap dispenser will energise for about one minute On this stage the lower spray arm is operational. |
C3 | Heating Phase. Heat to 50°C. Upper spray arm operational at this point. |
C4 | Engineer Intervention. Once temperature is reached the machine will buzz and stop. To continue the test press the Start button. |
C5 | Upper Section Fill. Upper half fills for five seconds and wash pump energised then a five second pause. |
C6 | Engineer Intervention. Once temperature is reached the machine will buzz and stop. To continue the test press the Start button. |
C7 | Regeneration. After a short wash the regeneration valve is energised for about 10 seconds with the wash motor running |
C8 | Pressure Switch Test. Wash motor stops and machine fills to safety level. |
C9 | Engineer Intervention. Once the safety level is reached press the Start button. |
CF | Drain. Machine drains and the regeneration valve is energised. |
LG Dishwasher Error Codes

2H | Estimated Time. A 2H is only an indicator of the estimated time remainging for cycle. 2H means the estimated time remaing is less than 2 hours, when the time is less than 99 minutes, is starts counting down untill the washing cycle is over. This is not an error code and does not require a repair service. |
AE | AE Error code indicates a possible leak from the unit. This is most often caused by excessive suds overflowing into the base of the dishwasher. Let’s check if this is the case. |
CE | CE Display message is motor error. It may indicate an issue with the motor or the wiring harness between the motor and control board. This can usually be corrected by performaning the following steps: 1. Power button to turn the dishwasher off 2. Turn the circuit breaker to the dishwasher OFF and wait 10 seconds. 3. Turn the circuit breaker yo the dishwasher back ON. 4.Press the POWER button to turn the dishwasher ON, and start a new cycle. |
CR | This simply indicates the unit is in TEST MODE, which is used by installers and service and technicians to check the functionality of the unit. CR is activated by pressing and holding 3 buttons simultanesously. How to turn off CR error Code: 1. Press the POWER button to turn OFF the unit 2. Wait for 1-2 minutes, then turn the unit back ON. |
bE | bE error code indicates the use of improper detergent or failure to level the appliance. To resolve the issue: 1. What kind of detergent do you use? Do not use hand-washing liwuid detergents. 2. Is the dishwasher level? The dishwasher must be leveled properly from front to back and side to side to ensure proper drainage and avoid damage and malfunction. 3. Are the suds visible in the dishwasher tub? If suds are visible, pour 4-7 ounces of milk in a shallow bowl, place it on the upper rack, and run the appliance on the AUTO cycle. |
nE | Vario Motor Error. This displays when the unit detects a possible issue with the vario motor, which controls the dishwasher’s spray arms. |
PF | Power Failure. This is designed to protect the diswhasher in the case of a power outage or interruptions. |
CL | Child Lock. This is not an error code. This code means that the CHILD LOCK or CONTROL LOCK feature has been activated. When activated, all buttons will not change except the washer’s door and the POWER button. |
F | When the unit is displaying F, the sensor is measuring the water clarity. After 5 minutes of sensing (except draining and filling), the unit’s display will then show the processing time. |
Cd | Cd means Cool-dry. This is an additional drying cycle to assist drying performance. This cycle runs for a further 60 minutes after the course has finished. It can be interrupted at any time by opening the door. |
TE | Thermistor failure or very high inlet water temperature (over 194 F) |
IE | Water inlet problem. • Check for a clogged, kinked or frozen water inlet hose. • Check water supply. |
OE | -Drainage Problem. • Check for a clogged, kinked or frozen water drain hose. -Air gap or disposal is clogged. • Clean air gap or disposal. -Filters are clogged. • Clean Filters. |
FE | Excessive Water supplied. |
HE | Heater circuit failure. |
LE | Motor trouble |
I24,H01,H02 | This is NOT an error code, this indicates the hour setting for delay wash. To cancel a delay wash setting, open the dishwasher door and simultaneously for 3 seconds, press ( depending on your washer): Press NORMAL and DELICATE. Press DUAL CONTROL and DELICATE. Press SPAY and HALF LOAD. |
01,02,03, up to 24 | A 2-digit code indicates the DELAY START has been activated. The number represents how many hours the cycle has been delayed. This is not an error. Use the CANCEL function to dactivate Delay Start and begin the cycle immediately. |
P1,P2,P3,P4 | Download Cycle. This is not an error code. P1: Pots and pans. P2: Casseroles. P3: Glassware. P4: Night care. |
n:xx, u:xxx, d:xx | This is not an error code. It is the version information of the controller. If displayed, simply OFF the unit and then put the unit ON again. |
Buzzing sound. (High Temperature Alarm) | This is not an error. When you open the door right after heating wash, rinse or dry, buzzing sound would keep on ringing for safety if the inside is heated. |
